About the Event

Tactical Urbanism is a creative, hands-on approach of using flexible, low-cost, and short-term projects to advance and catalyze long-term goals related to neighborhood building, community attachment, street safety, and public space.

Examples include:

· Parklets that accommodate temporary outdoor dining in parking spaces outside local businesses

· Painted mural crosswalks at busy intersections that illustrate traffic-calming and complete streets applications

· Potted trees and flowers in community-painted pots that provide shade

· Temporary enhancements to bus stops that showcase community character

· Other imaginative solutions led by neighborhood residents that support the built environment and community vitality.
