Carolina Ilic, AICP

2023 Conference Host Committee Co-Chair

Carolina serves as Assistant Director at the City of Fresno Transportation Department. In this capacity, she oversees the Planning, Capital Development, and Information Systems Divisions. Previously, Carolina was the Planning Manager, managing planning efforts for the transit system and coordinating land use and transportation integration with various city departments and the regional council of governments. Carolina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UCLA and her Master’s Degree in City Planning from San Diego State University. She has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) since 2015. For many years, she served on the Board of the San Diego Section of the American Planning Association as the Planning Journal Editor and as a Mentor for the Young Planners Group. From 2019 to 2022, she served as the Professional Development Officer for the CenCal APA Section, coordinating numerous programs during the COVID pandemic. From 2022 to 2023, Carolina stepped into the role of Conference Host Committee Co-Chair to help plan the APA California 2023 Conference, held in downtown Fresno in September 2023. Carolina has been a huge fan of the Central Section’s annual Sierra Retreat and is thrilled to serve as the Sierra Retreat Coordinator starting in 2024.
