Site Check Presentation and Demonstration by OPR

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) and the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) created a web-based tool called Site Check to help developers and public agencies determine if a housing project might qualify for CEQA streamlining based on its location. In addition to running a CEQA report, Site Check allows users to filter parcels based on specific CEQA provisions or whether the parcels meet certain requirements, like whether they are in an urbanized area, within a certain distance to transit, or covered by a specific plan. Users can also avoid parcels in environmentally sensitive areas like wetlands, natural hazard zones, or flood plains. The goal of Site Check is to provide a helpful starting point and guide users to the housing-related provisions within CEQA.

In a free Zoom Webinar hosted by the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) Central Chapter and American Planning Association (APA) Central Section, Natalie Kuffel of OPR will present the live beta version of Site Check and provide a demonstration of the website.
The live beta version of Site Check can be found here: https://sitecheck.opr.ca.gov/
